BNP says candidate list spread on Facebook is ‘fake’

Ahead of the 13th National Assembly elections, a list of BNP candidates that has been circulated on social media platform Facebook has been termed as ‘fake and fabricated’ by the party’s Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi.

In a press release sent to the media on Tuesday afternoon, he said, ‘I, BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, hereby inform the leaders and activists of all levels of BNP, including the general public, that a self-serving and malicious group has posted a list of BNP candidates for various constituencies in the National Assembly elections on Facebook. The list posted on Facebook is completely false, fabricated and motivated by ill intentions.’

The release further said that the list was not sent to the media from the BNP office. It is completely fabricated and fake. The general public, including leaders and activists of all levels of BNP, are requested not to be confused about the list posted on Facebook.
